The Audi A6 e-tron is a fully electric midsize luxury sedan from Audi, debuting for the 2023 model year. Audi is targeting an extremely long driving range of 400 miles on a single charge in the A6 E-tron.
The Audi E-tron lineup of luxury electric vehicles has been a major success for the German automaker. And that lineup is set to get a new member for the 2023 model year: the Audi A6 E-tron.
The A6 E-tron is a sleek and exciting new electric sedan that is causing a lot of excitement. Audi has made some lofty promises about its capabilities leading up to its release. Based on the performance and success of previous E-tron vehicles, there is little reason to doubt the projections for the latest model. So just what can we expect from the Audi A6 E-tron? Here’s what we can say so far.
Audi A6 E-tron Performance – The Audi A6 E-tron concept vehicle, first revealed in 2021, features dual electric motors. This model could deliver up to 469 horsepower, and we should expect the final product to be close to that output.
The twin electric motor system has become common practice for LEV manufacturers. By devoting one motor to each axle, the A6 E-tron will have more power, greater stability, and handling on the road.
Determining exactly how well it will perform – we will just need to wait and see. However, based on projections and Audi’s existing EV models, the A6 promises to provide an excellent driving experience.
Audi A6 E-tron Charging – The battery and range of the Audi A6 e-tron are where the manufacturer has set its loftiest goals. Audi has said that it is targeting a range of 400 miles on a single charge with the A6 E-tron. That figure would put it near the very top of the EV market in terms of driving range.
The current long-range champion in the E-tron family is the Audi Q4 E-tron, with a range of 265 miles. That figure is still very good, but it is clear that Audi hopes to take their newest model even further.
Audi is also targeting faster-than-average charging times for the A6. Using a Level 4 DC Fast Charger, the brand is targeting a full charge time of just 25 minutes.
Audi A6 E-tron Design and Technology – The Audi A6 E-tron is a midsize sedan with a sleek, modern design. It makes use of narrow LED headlamps and a sloped rear roof to create an understated, yet impressive, image.
The concept vehicle makes use of LED projectors in the turn signals. This is to project additional turn indicators onto the ground beside it. Whether or not that feature will be brought to the road remains to be seen.
Audi has not revealed many details about the interior space of the A6 E-tron just yet. But, based on other E-tron models, we can expect a comfortable and luxurious cabin. Existing E-tron models offer digital display clusters and head-up displays, wireless connectivity, premium surround sound, heated seats, and more. We should expect the A6 E-tron to include many of these same features, and perhaps more.
Audi should also equip the A6 E-tron with its most advanced safety and driver assist packages. Popular Audi safety features include Audi pre-sense front collision detection, adaptive cruise control, and parking assist.
The Audi A6 E-tron should go on sale sometime in 2023. To take a test drive when this model is available, come see us at Ray Catena Audi Freehold.
