Jaguar XE Regular Hybrid Key Features

The XE Regular Hybrid was designed to be an executive transport. While it delivers on that purpose, it has tough competition among other luxury executive transport vehicles. The 2020 model of the XE received a host of cosmetic upgrades, including a redesigned front grille, rear styling tweaks, and more.

Jaguar also opted for a smaller engine after 2019, but it still offers enough kick to have fun. On the tech side, the XE features all the bells and whistles to ensure drivers remain informed and entertained.

Jaguar XE Performance and Mileage

As mentioned, the XE received a bit of a downgrade on its engine after 2019. Before that, it featured a 380-horsepower V-6. After 2019, it now comes standard with a turbocharged four-cylinder. The base model P250 offers up to 247 horsepower, while in the P300, you’ll get 296 horsepower. 2020 also saw the addition of an MHEV hybrid system for improved efficiency.

It’s certainly a bit of a step down in power but still delivers some punch to zip around. However, one of the XE’s strengths is in its handling. It handles corners and bumps extremely well while offering a smooth ride. There is also an available adaptive suspension system for those interested.

On the mileage side, the EPA rates the XE to get 24 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway.

Technology and Infotainment

The XE is certainly outfitted with plenty of tech to keep drivers impressed and entertained. The main feature comes in the form of a 10.2” infotainment touchscreen that uses Jaguar’s InControl Touch Pro software.

Integrated into the software are Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and navigation. Some models may also feature the upgraded Technology Pack, which comes with a head-up display, wireless charging pad, and Duo Infotainment System.

Of course, the XE still features Jaguar’s particular brand of luxury. The interior cabin delivers a somewhat minimalistic general design with smooth curves around the dash. However, high-quality materials and stylistic accents make the XE a joy to drive.

Standard Safety Features

The XE features several standard safety features that help to keep drivers and passengers protected, including: 

• Lane-keeping assist
• Adaptive cruise control
• Driver drowsiness monitoring
• Automated emergency braking

However, it is important to note that the XE was not tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
