There is exciting news on the horizon for the 2023 Lexus RX. In addition to upgrades to existing models, a brand new Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid will be released. While there is little information on the specs of the new plug-in hybrid, we can make comparisons based on other Lexus models.
Currently, Lexus only has one plug-in hybrid model: the Lexus NX Plug-in Hybrid. The Lexus NX Plug-in Hybrid has an electric range of 37 miles, requiring 2.5 hours to achieve a full charge. The NX line is traditionally slightly more efficient than the RX line. This means the RX Plug-in Hybrid may have a shorter electric range. A traditional hybrid Lexus RX Hybrid model has an estimated fuel economy of 31 combined MPGs.
The Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid should have a charge time between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. This information is based on what we know about other Lexus hybrid drivetrains and previous RX models. More information about this new model should become available early in 2023.
