Which LEV Has the Best Driving Performance?
The Porsche Taycan is widely considered to be one of the best-performing luxury electric vehicles available in 2022. Other noteworthy LEVs include the MINI Cooper SE, the Audi e-tron GT, and the Tesla Model S. Learn more.
Luxury electric vehicles are about more than just efficiency and sustainability. Advances in EV manufacturing have turned many LEVs into some of the best-performing vehicles anywhere on the road. At Ray Catena Auto Group, our whole lineup of Electrified Luxury packs a serious punch – here are some of the LEVs that offer the best driving experience in 2022.
MINI Cooper SE
The first fully-electric MINI Cooper has finally arrived, and it does many things exceptionally well. The MINI Cooper SE does not sacrifice any of the fun and excitement that drivers have come to expect from this brand. MINI’s compact vehicles have always featured precision, active handling, and surprising power. This EV was designed for the joy ride.
Where MINI Cooper lags behind is in its battery. The SE has just 114 miles of range before it needs to be recharged. This number is considerably lower than each of the other LEVs on this list. But even with its lower range, the SE offers one of the most fun EV rides available.

Audi e-tron GT
With 637 horsepower, the Audi e-tron GT can go from 0-60 MPH in just 3.1 seconds. This is an impressive counterpart to the Audi e-tron SUV, and Audi’s all-electric sedan has already made quite the impression. Very few LEVs can match the e-tron GT’s top speed of 156 MPH. And all of this impressive power comes from Audi, so you know you can trust its safety and handling. Like all Audi vehicles, the e-tron GT has all the advanced safety features you could want. So you can enjoy top speeds and precise handling while driving a vehicle that you can trust.

Tesla Model S
One of the flashiest vehicles of the year, electric or not, is the Tesla Model S. While the manufacturer’s bold claims of attainable speeds up to 200 MPH are dubious, the Model S still shines brightly. Even if it doesn’t quite reach the 200 mark, the Model S does still boast 1020 horsepower. That figure is easily tops among all EVs. In addition to that, the Model S also has an unmatched range of 396 miles.
With unmatched horsepower and range, it would be impossible not to mention the Model S here. But that’s not all this LEV has to offer. The Model S also offers a smooth ride and responsive handling at most speeds.
Winner: Porsche Taycan
One of the most impressive luxury electric vehicles both inside and out is the Porsche Taycan. There are ten Taycan models to choose from, but even the standard model is an engineering marvel. The standard Taycan boasts 225 miles of range and over 400 horsepower, topping out at 143 MPH. The Turbo and Turbo S models can each reach 161 MPH.
And did we mention that the Taycan offers some of the best handling among all electric vehicles? This should not come as much of a surprise considering Porsche’s pedigree. But it was not unreasonable to wonder what kind of quality the German automaker’s EV would provide. It’s safe to say that the Porsche Taycan has lived up to the brand’s lofty standards.
