Range
Assuming you’re not distracted by its lavish exterior, the first thing you should notice about the EQS is its range. The 107.8 kWh battery gives the EQS an astonishing 350 miles of range when fully charged. Only the longest-range Tesla models are in the same category as the EQS in terms of range. The EQS also boasts average charging speeds of 31 minutes for DC fast charging, and 11-hour Level 2 charging.
Speed and Performance
The electric motor on the Mercedes-Benz EQS delivers 329 horsepower and acceleration speeds of 5.9 seconds going 0-60 MPH. The EQS has a maximum speed of 130 MPH.
The EQS is incredibly responsive on the road, accelerating and braking with ease on command. The driver also has the option to select from one of three distinct driving modes in the EQS. Eco Mode helps the EQS run efficiently for miles on end. Comfort Mode helps the car handle bumps and turns more smoothly, keeping you and any passengers as comfortable as possible. And finally, Sport Mode lowers the vehicle slightly for added aerodynamics and a more exhilarating ride. This sort of adaptability makes the EQS a fantastic vehicle for any style of driving. With so much versatility, you might expect the EQS to lag behind somewhere, but it doesn’t.
Design
Both inside and out, the Mercedes-Benz EQS looks like the car of the future. A sleek, low curving roof and dazzling metallic finish make this model impossible to miss. And when you get a glimpse of the cabin, you may feel as though you’ve stepped on board a spaceship. A combination of steel and aluminum framework keeps the EQS perfectly balanced between lightweight and sturdy. Drivers should expect no less from the likes of Mercedes-Benz.
A spectacular, yet surprisingly seamless, interior design completes the dazzling exterior. The EQS seats five passengers with surprising comfort, aided by the leather sport seating.
Technology
We mentioned the dazzling, futuristic interior on board the EQS. That interior features some truly remarkable onboard technology. With an optional upgrade, buyers can install a curved 56-inch touchscreen infotainment display in the cockpit. This is easily the largest (and most impressive) dashboard display in any LEV.
Other tech highlights include customizable ambient lighting, heated and ventilated seats, and, of course, a wide array of advanced safety features. The available tech options of the EQS help set it apart as the height of vehicular luxury.
