Aggressively elegant design

The sleek, sporty and spacious design of the C-Class Sedan captivates the eye and delights the senses. Its long wheelbase enhances handling, ride comfort and cabin room, while the extensive use of aluminum makes the body a lightweight on the scales, but a heavyweight in strength. The sculpted, long-hood/short-deck design is at once elegant and athletic, a look that comes to life on any road.

High-resolution in-dash screens

A pair of crisp, high-resolution screens use a high pixel count and automatic adjustment to ambient light to provide seamless, animated display of entertainment, information and vehicle settings. Atop the central dash, a 7″ freestanding screen vividly presents audio, optional navigation and other features while keeping a sleek dash profile. In front of the driver, crisp analog gauges flank a color screen with illustrated menus and sharp text for driving systems, settings and more.

Touchpad controller

With the available COMAND® navigation, an advanced touchpad works in concert with a rotary knob and one-touch keys for major functions. The touchpad responds to a variety of finger motions, including swipe, pinch and even handwriting. It can even be turned off, becoming a comfortable handrest while you access all the features of COMAND via the rotary controller and hard keys.

Engine and Design

The 241-hp 2.0L inline-4 turbo engine in the C 300 combines numerous advances to deliver more power from less fuel. Its rapid-multispark ignition and high-pressure Direct Injection can fine-tune themselves in milliseconds. Its turbocharger spools up quickly to boost response, helping deliver all of the engine’s 273 lb-ft of torque at just 1,300 rpm. Widely variable timing of all 16 valves and innovative 3-phase cooling team up to reduce emissions, raise your emotions, and rush you from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.8 seconds.

With a greater range of ratios and shorter steps between gears, the new 9-speed automatic changes gears more quickly but nearly imperceptibly. Along with a more seamless delivery of power, the lighter, more versatile transmission enhances quiet riding comfort and fuel-efficiency. The electronic selector and shift paddles let you control all gear changes with your hands on the steering wheel. And drivers can vary the shift modes via the innovative DYNAMIC SELECT system.

A multimode drive program selector on the console lets you transform the car’s character with the flip of a switch. Four modes (ECO, Comfort, Sport and Sport+) alter the throttle response, shift points and steering effort, ECO Start/Stop, and available AIRMATIC® suspension. A fifth “Individual” mode allows you to create a mode of your own, even letting you set the transmission for purely manual shifting.

Standard Torque Vectoring Brake technology provides additional control and precision in turns via targeted rear-wheel braking. If the vehicle’s Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) detects understeer while cornering, the system applies the brake to the inside rear wheel, temporarily shifting torque distribution in favor of the outside wheel. This causes the vehicle to gently pivot in compensation, putting it on a line of travel, or vector, better suited to the turn.

Radar-based technology alerts you if you’re approaching a vehicle ahead, or even some stationary objects, at a speed and distance that suggest a collision is likely. As soon as the driver starts to brake, the system can automatically provide an appropriate level of braking to help prevent a collision or reduce its severity. If you fail to respond, the system can also initiate braking automatically from speeds up to 65 mph, and can activate the features of PRE-SAFE®
