Factors like charging habits and temperature exposure can affect the longevity of EV batteries. However, most electric vehicle batteries are expected to last between 8 and 12 years.
BMW i3 Driving Range and Charging
The 2021 BMW i3 has a standard driving range of 153 miles. In addition to the standard model, a Range Extender model is also available. With the Range Extender, the i3’s range increases to 200 miles.
The all-electric i3 can be recharged at any home or public EV charging stations. This includes both level 2 and level 3 DC fast charging. Using a Level 2 charger, the i3 can reach a full charge in approximately 7 hours. With Level 3 charging, the i3 can reach 80% charge in just over 30 minutes.
