BMW offers an 8-year/100,000 mile battery warranty on all new BMW i3 models. This is inline with the average expected lifespan of most modern EV batteries. Factors like charging habits and temperature exposure can affect the longevity of EV batteries. However, most electric vehicle batteries are expected to last between 8 and 12 years.

BMW i3 Driving Range and Charging

The 2021 BMW i3 has a standard driving range of 153 miles. In addition to the standard model, a Range Extender model is also available. With the Range Extender, the i3’s range increases to 200 miles.

The all-electric i3 can be recharged at any home or public EV charging stations. This includes both level 2 and level 3 DC fast charging. Using a Level 2 charger, the i3 can reach a full charge in approximately 7 hours. With Level 3 charging, the i3 can reach 80% charge in just over 30 minutes.
