Lexus UX Hybrid – Review

June 22nd, 2022 by

The Lexus UX Hybrid is a highly efficient compact hybrid SUV from Lexus. With 41 highway MPG and 45 city, it is one of the most fuel efficient 2025 models available. At Ray Catena Auto Group, we’re the experts in the Lexus line of LEVs.

Japanese automaker Lexus has thus far stuck to releasing hybrid vehicles in the US instead of fully electric models. But they are making the most of this strategy, with a very robust line of hybrid models. Among them is the Lexus UX Hybrid, a compact SUV with tremendous fuel efficiency. The UX’s combination of side, handling, and efficiency make it an exceptional, sporty vehicle for city dwellers. Here is an overview of all the key features that the Lexus UX Hybrid offers.

Lexus UX Hybrid Fuel Efficiency

Even among other hybrid SUVs, the Lexus UX Hybrid is extremely efficient. It gets an estimated combined 43 MPG. The UX is a rare model that outperforms its highway estimates in the city: 45 city MPG to 41 highway. In comparison, the standard gas engine UX model has a combined 32 MPG.

The UX is not a plug-in hybrid, which means there is never a need to plug in to a charger. Instead, the car’s electric vehicle is charged by its gas engine. Drivers simply need to fill up at a gas station as they normally would to keep their car running. But because of the UX’s incredible efficiency, they will be doing so less frequently.

Speed and Performance of the Lexus UX Hybrid

The appeal of the Lexus UX Hybrid is its compact size and sporty handling. As such, its speed and horsepower specs will lag behind other luxury electric SUVs. The standard UX 250h model offers 181 horsepower and a top speed of 110 MPH. It does have slightly more horsepower and faster acceleration than its standard gas powered counterpart: 0-60 in 8.0 seconds, compared to 8.9 seconds.

The hybrid version of the UX also offers all-wheel drive, which contributes to a better overall ride than the gas vehicle. The UX is designed to be a fun and sporty SUV with exceptional handling. Additional models also add improved suspension for even more of a sporty ride.

The UX is perfect for those who are looking for a compact SUV with great efficiency and no electric charger.
